This tour is bringing new life to the idea of riding a bike around the lake on the off road trails with mountain bike passing scenic view along the bamboo forest. Lunch provided at typical Shan house on the lake and gentle paddling of kayak through stilt-house villages.
- 07:45 meeting point at Grasshopper shop in Nyaung Shwe for bike fitting and Safety Briefing Rides out of town on a tar road for about 3km before starting on the narrow trails that make up most of today’s riding surface. While not technically difficult, the narrow lanes do require some degree of confidence on a bike The seasons bring different crops and activities to show which may include molasses production, rice harvesting & milling, rice cracker making, tofu factories, a baker and rice alcohol distillery. A mid-morning snack stop is at a truly local establishment, with great Shan food & drinks to match.
The bikes are loaded into boats for a transfer of about 20-minutes to start a countryside tour circuit through villages and rice fields. After this, another boat ride of about 40-minutes to lunch. After lunch the bikes are swapped for kayaks and a very short boat ride takes to a quiet area for the kayaking. This can be for as long or as short as any guest wishes as the long-tail boat accompanies, allowing the guest to get in at any suitable point. After returning to the lunch house and dropping the kayaks, the long-tail boat makes the journey back to Nyaung Shwe – approx. 45-minutes The arrival at Nyaung Shwe does depend on how long the guests have been kayaking but is usually around 16.30 to Nyaung Shwe.Note: Pick up/Drop off hotel is not included and supplement will apply for the transfers.
