Let your local guide lead you to the mystical flooded forest of Kompong Phluk by leaving the bustle of Siem Reap, and Bouncing along rural dirt roads. You’ll get the unique opportunity to watch the beautiful countryside sweep past: vibrant rice fields, working farms and a glimpse at the rural Khmer way of life that has remained largely unchanged for hundreds of years. At Kompong Phluk you will journey either by foot or boat – depending on the season’s mood – to explore the red river, placid lake and surrounding forest. Lunch is a truly special experience as a Cambodian family welcomes you into their home for a visit and a home-cooked meal. After lunch, experience the Phuum Oh farming village where you’ll get to try your hand at rice farming, planting and harvesting. Finish your day with a ride on an old fashioned wooden oxcart and get a feel for Cambodia’s renowned smiles and Khmer fellowship.
