Day 1: Siem Reap to Kampong Thom
- Your 4-day journey will begin and end in Siem Reap. We will depart from Siem Reap at 8:00 a.m. Along the way, enjoy an introduction to Buddhist philosophy, meditation, and Q&A. There are plenty of opportunities for photos of the Cambodian countryside, and our guides will stop along the way at some of their favorite photo-taking spots. We will stop at Preah Pous for meditation, then on to the town of Kampong Thom for lunch. After lunch we’ll continue to the sacred Santuk Mountain and Sampov Meas (Brak). We’ll check in to our guesthouse in Kampong Thom and enjoy dinner and meditation before bed.
Day 2: Preah Kuk – Preah Vihear
- Start off your day with breakfast and meditation before we travel north to Preah Kuk Temple. At Preah Kuk, we’ll enjoy a guided tour of the site’s many small temples, a serene walking meditation among the ruins, and lunch. After lunch, we’ll Travel to Preah Vihear Town. Along the way we’ll share a Dharma Talk, Q+A, and a few stops for some photo opportunities. We’ll check in to our guesthouse and enjoy dinner and evening meditation before bed.
Day 3: Preah Vihear Temple
- Wake up and enjoy breakfast and morning meditation before we travel to Preah Vihear Border Mountain Temple Complex. We’ll have a quick Dharma Talk,and Q+A, before buy tickets at office for temple and transfer to pickup trucks for the ride up the mountain to temples. We’ll share a picnic lunch at the temple grounds, followed by a walking meditation, and a guided tour of the site’s ancient past and the modern politics surrounding the area. We’ll return to the hotel in the evening for some relaxation, dinner, and evening meditation.
Day 4: Anlong Veng
- We’ll check out of the hotel and share breakfast and morning meditation before we travel to the border town of Anlong Veng. Along the way, we’ll share another Dharma Talk, Q+A, and some photo opportunities. We’ll break for lunch, followed by a quiet walking meditation at Ta Mok’s residence, the former Khmer Rouge operation headquarters. It’s just 13 KM to the Thai border, so we’ll make a stop there to look across at neighboring Thailand. The day ends with your return trip to Siem Reap. Along the way, we’ll reflect on our experiences with a final Dharma Talk and stop for a light snack and meditation. Conclude journey at Siem Reap.
